Sleepy Notes

Bedtime stories in your voice

Your child listens. There is nothing to watch. Record your own voice once, choose a story, and press play — the phone can sit face-down on the shelf.

How it works

  1. Record a short sample of your own voice, once.
  2. Choose a story and tap generate.
  3. Press play. Your child hears the story in your voice.

Audio you generate is saved on your device and plays from there, so it keeps working with no signal — in the car, on a flight, or in a room where the lights are already off.

What is inside

Over 300 stories across six categories, plus My Stories, which starts empty and is where you write your own. Every story in our library is fixed text, written and reviewed before we publish it — nothing is written while your child listens.

  • Bedtime — gentle wind-down stories, the largest collection.
  • Affirmations — short, kind, repeat-after-me stacks.
  • Classic Tales — original retellings of public domain favourites.
  • Duet Voices — two recorded voices narrating, line by line.
  • Indian Tales — Panchatantra, Jataka and Akbar-Birbal, gently retold.
  • Festivals — Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Hanukkah, Nowruz and more, told through a family's evening rather than any doctrine.
  • My Stories — starts empty, and it is where you write your own and hear it back in your voice.

Stories are sorted into three listening stages, so a three-year-old is not handed a seven-year-old's story.

Privacy

Stories recorded in your voice are stored on your phone (and in any phone backup you make) — never on our servers. There are no ads, and we never sell your data. We ask for the smallest amount about your child that the app can work with — a name (and how to say it), a pronoun, an age range, the themes they like — and nothing else. You can delete your voice, a child's profile, or your entire account from inside the app, at any time.

The full privacy policy and terms are published here, and support answers the questions parents ask most.

What it costs

No subscription and no recurring charge. You buy a pack of story credits, and it is yours until you use it. If you run out, you can top up whenever you want to — never on a schedule, and never automatically. You can browse the full library and listen in our narrator's voice before you decide to record your own.
